Yes! The Javelin DNA ID Card Printer is specifically designed for professional ID badge card printing, and the different finishes can be achieved according to the ribbon used during the printing. The standard YMCKOK ribbons will have an overlay panel (K) which will give a glossy surface finish for added colour vibrancy and quality of the prints made on the cards. However, for corporations requiring a matte finish to minimize glares or to get a high-end appearance, we recommend using matte finish ribbons. The Javelin DNA ID Card Printer includes the ability to print on the overlay panel when using YMCKOK ribbons; the designated overlay (O) panel prints a clear laminate film over the whole printed surface, making it much harder to forge or scratch the printed material. Should there be an additional need for an extra level of protection for the organisation, holographic overlay ribbons can be substituted for the regular overlay panel ribbons; the holographic pattern will make it nearly impossible to forge the card without using the same printer and ribbon.
